Into Road Trips

Comm 310 Projects:

Road Trips

I love going on road trips. I have driven more than most girls at age 21. I am from North Carolina so I have made the trip from there to Rexburg and back multiple times. That's 2,100 miles one way! I've done it 9 times so far, once I drove down to San Diego, CA, then all the way to Charlotte, NC. That's almost 2,400 miles, not including the drive down to San Diego. I just love traveling and seeing new places. When I am driving across the country I see so many changes in the weather, on one side it can beautiful and sunny, and I can look to the opposite side and see a storm brewing. I also see so many changes in the scenery. I can go from dry, cold, boring Rexburg to humid, warm, green Charlotte. It's such a fun experience to be able to do such a thing, I always feel so accomplished after the long drive. I usually do it in two days, because any longer and I could go crazy! One time I had to do it the day after I got my wisdom teeth out, it was not such a fun trip.

Now that I'm married my husband and I have begun traveling together. We have driven down to San Diego and multiple parts of Utah many times already. We have flown to Florida and been on a cruise, which I must say was the best vacation of my life. We plan to go many many places before we settle down and have a family. He isn't the biggest fan of driving so we will have to fly everywhere, which is just fine with me. The cruise we went on was to the Caribbean, that was the first time I had ever left the country, and man was it awesome! We were able to stop in Belize, Mexico, Grand Cayman Islands, and a part of Honduras. We hope to go to Hawaii this summer, I have never been but he has been multiple times. I just can't wait to explore more of this big amazing world we live in!

What I loved about COMM310

Comm 310 taught me so much that I didn't know, I never knew what css or php were. I had worked a little bit with html but just one time. I don't know which would be my favorite, php, css, or html. I think I like them all the same. I was so nervous about this class, and still am. It has been quite a struggle for me, I feel like it just moves too fast and I don't have enough time to really get everything down. Don't get me wrong, I certainly enjoy it once I get it but there is just so much you can do with it all that I just can't seem to wrap my head around it.

I did learn a few cool tricks and things using css, those are always fun and php is so nice, because it makes things so much easier. I remember doing the first project and having to go back and change one tiny thing on each page and being so stressed about it. Now, with php, I only have to make the change one time. That really takes a load off my shoulder so I can focus more on the css then having to type up the html for every single page. I can't say that I enjoy html. It was the most complicated of all the parts to me. But all in all, I certainly did learn a whole lot about online media in this class and it will continue to help me learn as I go on to try and use the internet as an outlet for my work.
