From a very young age I loved watching the history or travel channel on TV. I would see all these exotic place and I would always say to myself that one day I will go there and wonder through European cities, climb ancient pyramids, hike through a jungle, and experience foreign cultures. I was able to first experience my dream last Christmas during a trip to Riviera Maya . After spending the trip laying on a beach and swimming through crystal blue waters, I didn't get to experience any culture. So four months later I went on a month long trip to Central America. Experiencing cultures, languages, and ancient sites I thought I would never see in my life.
After being bitten by this travel bug, I can't stay in one place. I want to go anywhere and everywhere! My next big vacation is going to be somewhere in Europe, maybe to Italy and Greece or possible the United Kingdom and Ireland. Or maybe I will wonder through the entire European continent with only a backpack and pepper spray. I do know that whatever life holds for me, it will at least hold a passport and a airplane ticket because this girl is going places.
When I entered this class I knew nothing about designing websites. I think I heard of HTML from a friend once and I cringed. But while I have been in this class I have realized how much work it takes to make a website. I now look at websites and see their design and I am so proud of what they have done because now I know how much effort and knowledge it takes to do what they have done.
Now, I don't want you to think that all I have walked away with after this semester is appreciation for this subject because I have learned a lot. I have learned how to appropriately (sometimes) code a page. I have also learned how to do basic CSS design and PHP. I feel like now I can maybe not build a site, but I can help do it.
