I was not one of those kids growing up, who knew what they always wanted to be. I knew what i liked but never knew how I could make a living doing it. When I found design - graphic and web, my life changed and I knew how I was going to monetize my passions
My time here as a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho has kind of been an adventure. It has taken me a while to figure out what I want to study. My major has switched from architectural technology, to construction management, to art, and finally to communications. And now that it is too late I want to swith to web design and development, but have had to settle for that as my minor. I think one of my biggest problems, or strengths, is that I am never satisfied with my knowledge. There is always so much more than I want to learn and even more that I want to do.
This class was not my first introduction to HTML and CSS. I have taken classes, and built some basic websites on numerous occasions in the past. I have enjoyed the oportunities I have had to practice and develop those skills, but I have esspecially enjoyed learning some PHP.
As much as I have enjoyed learning HTML and making websites. I have felt that making a more complicated website is very redundant and very difficult. Even though I am new to PHP, the posibilities in having a language that will do most of the work for me is amazing. This class has inspired me to take CIT 336 next semester. This class will cover in much greater depth, how to make dynamic websites using PHP and I am stoked about it!
