Magic tricks have always been a major part of my life. I first got interested in magic when I was seven years old. I remember one year I got my first magic kit. There were hundreds of magic tricks in it. I loved learning the secrets and then performing the tricks for my family. As I grew, so did my love for magic. I discovered that there were bigger and better magic tricks available to buy, learn, and perform. I slowly started to invest more and more money into those magic tricks. When I was in grade school I remember getting in trouble with my teacher one day. Instead of paying attention in class, I was preoccupied planning a magic club with my friend. Needless to say my passion for magic grew even stronger. I eventually started doing kids shows throughout jr. high and high school. When I was finally a senior in high school, I bought my very first stage illusions. After returning home from my two year mission, I started my academic carear at BYU-Idaho. That was when things got big for me.
My first year at school I ate, drank, and slept magic. I was so obsessed with magic that, once again, my grades started to suffer. But I loved magic that much. I performed on stage and in a couple of shows that year. After coming to my senses that magic was taking over my life, I made a course correction and stepped back from it a bit. Although I am not as obsessed with magic as I used to be, I still have a strong love for it and still love performing when I can. I enjoy being on stage in front of live audiences or even just in front of a few people showing them a quick trick with a pen. Being able to make something happen that is impossible is fun for me. I am not good at a lot of things. So when it comes to being able to do something that most people do not know how to do...it makes me feel like I am at least somewhat good at one thing.
Although not directly related to html or css, I must say I have a stronger testimony of the learning model.I remember a couple days in particular when we were all put into groups. I learned so much that day from my peers. Having somone my age, in my situation teach me in a way that I could really Understand it helped me so much. The learning model is inspired by God. I love it.
Directly related to html and css i must say I have learned the imporance of orginization and uniformity. I am not very organized in general and found early on that I would put files and pages lots of different places on my computer. However, I soon learned how make files in the right places, and to make those files all the same. No spaces in the finle name. No capitalization. Etc. If I did this, then I would never be lost as to where I put my files and I would have less mistakes when writing my html. Doing this also helped me to understand when to put slashes and periods when getting into a folder or out of a folder.
