Into Music Recording

Comm 310 Projects:

Music Recording

I have always been into recording music. I have tried different genres but since it's just me, instrumental, soundtrack, and electronic seems to work the best for me. I have been able to make enough songs to have a few albums up on iTunes the past few years.

Currently, I use Propellerhead Reason 4.0 and Logic Pro 8 to record my music. These two programs combined really work well with what I record. Reason has a convenient built in software called Rewire. This allows Reason to plug in to any recording software, meaning you have two recording programs working simultaneously together. I typically use Reason for the drums, loops and percussion and Logic for everything else. That everything else I am referring to are software instruments called Spectrasonics Omnisphere and Symphonic Orchestra.

I love recording music; I have done it on and off the past 7 years or so. It's a really fun hobby unless I can channel it into something that would turn into a business. For now, it's just for fun. I started a blog a couple of months ago called Todds Music and Video. This has also been really enjoyable to do. Anything that deals with recording music and video will always be something I am interested in.

Basic HTML and CSS

The beginning of the semester, I had zero knowledge of html and css. I don't think I even knew what css was. I am very appreciative that this class has taught me the basic fundamental principles of this language.

Knowing the basics language of html and css, I now can identify html elements and how they are organized. I learned how powerful css can be. I have a long way to go before I feel comfortable enough to work as if a client would have me design a web page. With that being said, I feel like I am miles ahead than I was 3 months ago.
