The default page has all of the links for your assignments and should include the name of the assignment and the due date. The default.html page will be the page the instructor opens to check your assignments. If the assignment links are not working, the assignment is not correct. Place in order the most recent assignment links at the top of the default page. The default.htm will be a progressive document that you will need to regularly update and test to make sure the links are working correctly.

After you copy or "put" your default.html file to the remote host, please http the default.html page and test the links there. Also, check the addresses of the links as you hover on them to make sure that the links are accessing the files off of your remote host and not off of your local host.
